 In general the main sewer lateral line of the home (described as the sewer line from the house to either the city main or septic tank entrance) is the responsibility of the homeowner. The main lateral sewer line is known to have a host of issues. Up North Home Inspection Service will perform a video inspection of the main sewer lateral line.

Locating the tank and drain field.  Scoping the lateral line from the tank to the home. Inspecting the inlet and outlet baffles. Observing if the drain field is "drinking" water. Performing a "sludge" test to see if the tank is in need of service.

Many home loans require the well water to be tested.  Up North Home Inspection Service will collect the sample and have it tested by a certified laboratory.  Basic testing includes water coliform (bacteria), fluoride, chloride, hardness, nitrate, nitrite, sulfate, sodium and iron.  If additional testing, including lead, is required, please consult inspector.
